Coffee Made Clear

Accessibility Statement

Updated: October 11, 2026 · Not reviewed by an attorney

Coffee Made Clear wants its guides to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities.

Our Goal

We aim to build and maintain the site in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) from the World Wide Web Consortium, working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA where it reasonably applies.

This is a goal, not a claim that the site conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not carried out a full audit against every WCAG success criterion, and a passing automated test does not show full conformance.

What Is in Place

The site is built with these practices:

  • semantic HTML with landmarks and a logical heading order;
  • a “Skip to main content” link;
  • navigation, menus, and accordions that work from the keyboard;
  • a visible focus outline;
  • text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alternative text for decorative ones;
  • layouts that adapt to small screens;
  • reduced animation for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion; and
  • a language declared for every page.

The site has no forms, comments, video, audio, or embedded third-party content. If we add any, we will aim to make them accessible and update this statement.

How We Check

As of October 11, 2026, our checks consist of:

  • automated accessibility tests (axe-core, run through Playwright in the Chromium browser) on the main pages, including the legal pages, the mobile menu when it is open, and an opened FAQ answer, which reported no violations at the last run; and
  • automated tests of keyboard operation for the menu and the accordions.

These checks catch only part of the problems real people meet. We have not yet recorded a screen-reader test, and we have not manually checked every WCAG 2.2 criterion that automated tools cannot test. For example, we have not manually confirmed that the fixed header never hides the element you are focused on. Treat the site as work in progress.

Known Limits

  • Pages we link to, such as manufacturers, retailers, and research publishers, are outside our control and may have their own barriers.
  • Charts, tables, and images in guides may not suit every assistive technology. Tell us if one does not work for you.
  • Changes to the site can introduce new problems before we catch them.

We will prioritize fixes by how serious the barrier is, how many people it affects, and how practical the fix is.

Tell Us About a Barrier

If you hit a barrier, email hello@coffeemadeclear.com. If you can, include:

  • the page or address where it happened;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • what went wrong;
  • the browser or device you used; and
  • the assistive technology involved, if you are comfortable sharing it.

You do not need to disclose a disability or any medical information. We will make reasonable efforts to understand the problem and respond, but we cannot promise a reply time.

Another Way to Get the Information

If a barrier stops you from using something on the site, email us and say which content you need. Where reasonably possible, we will try to provide it in another accessible form.

Reviewing This Statement

We will update this statement as the site and our checks change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
